Weekly Round-Up Another excellent week of training in the bag, with strong sessions on Tuesday and Saturday. You’re all starting to show real progress and discipline in training, and it’s great to see. Be mindful that we have the National Road Relays coming up – the 6 Stage (men) and 4 Stage (women) . Get the date in your diaries: Saturday 19th September . The club will, of course, be covering the entry costs, so we’d really appreciate your support for our own race, which helps fund events like these. It would be fantastic to get a few men’s teams out and, hopefully, a ladies’ team too. Racing This week saw us head over to Wombourne for the brilliant Black Country Race Series , hosted by Tipton Harriers. A number of you put in big performances on a fast, although not completely flat, course that provided a great test of fitness. Well done to Steve Newman ,  Paul Marson, Ben Foster, Lucy Calrow, Stu Whitehouse and Richard Breakwell for outstanding runs. Our second-claim members ...

Week Starting 20th July Another great week of training, and we're all getting used to the heat! Races this week Olly led the TRX Wolves back at the Ironbridge 4. It's a tough race and one that has historically been won by some extremely prolific athletes over the years.  Our second-claim athletes also ran outstanding races, with Jonny Morris taking the win and James Neilson not far behind in 3rd place. Well done to Jon Hart and birthday boy James Neilson, who also smashed it with outstanding runs at the Huxley 5 Miler. Jon came home first, and both finished in under 25 minutes. News The committee has got the Tettenhall 5K up and ready for entries! The race takes place on 16th September at 7:00pm, and we're going to need around 30 marshals, lead bikes, tail runners and volunteers to help keep runners safe with traffic management. We'd love you to race, but if you can volunteer instead, we'd really appreciate it. The relays are on the Saturday, so consider helping out...

Another superb week of running by you all. Great training and some superb racing as well. First up was Tipton's brilliant new series at Baggeridge: The Andy Holden 5K. A tough venue and typical of the Green Hoops. They don't do easy! By all accounts, our members said it was a really well-put-together race. Hard, but fun. Well done to Paul Marson, Ben Foster, Lucy Calrow a fantastic second place - superb considering she'd just won the Black Country Half a few days ago, Richard Breakwell and Stuart Whitehouse, who all ran well in the heat on a challenging course. Second claim member Beth Tabor won the ladies' race overall, and Dylan Thomas managed a very respectable top-10 finish. Jonny Morris claimed another win at the Stiperstones Fell Race. Great work and a very nice trophy! Ian Mansell kept up his racing streak with a brilliant 14th place at the Northbrook 10K. Next up was the Shrewsbury 5K. It has to be said that when we arrived, it was like an oven and the tarmac s...

Race round ups: Vic Musgrove Alex Kelly led the TRX Wolves home in a great time of 16:37. He is recovering well from the MCR Marathon and is now back on his 5k programme. An outstanding run by Oliver Jones saw him smash through to the 16-minute 5k group. Joseph Marples also ran a storming race, lowering his 5k PB considerably with a new best of 17:14. Brilliant runs by all our TRX Wolves members throughout the field. Rob Cartwright, Richard Breakwell, Rob Tavenor, Stuart Whitehouse, Danni Braine, Hannah Corns and Ellie Kelly all ran very strong races. It was also great to see some of our second claim members doing so well. James Neilson ran a superb 15:32 to finish 3rd, Dylan ran a straight 17:00 for 23rd, and Beth Tabor finished 4th in a brilliant time of 18:08. Anna Moore ran a very strong race, picking people off throughout to finish in 22:36. Week starting 29th June

What a crazy week it’s been in terms of the heat and running. The thing is, you still got out there and got the job done. Hopefully we won’t have too many weeks like that, but there are some hot days coming up, so we’ll keep an eye on things and adapt the training when necessary. Well done to all of you for getting what you could out of this week. Wednesday 1st July is not only the Fast Sexarathon race, it’s also officially TRX Wolves’ half-year birthday! We’re six months old. We’ve grown into an amazing club in such a short space of time. Please do send me any thoughts and stories from your personal TRX Wolves journey so far, as we’ll be sharing them on our social media to celebrate. Ian Mansell won the Chasewater Snickerthon 10K – well done, Ian. Rob Cartwright was first home for TRX Wolves at the Penkridge 10K, with Thomas Rowley not too far behind and Paul Dean (second claim) also right up there. It looks like that race is really developing well, with a big field and plenty o...
