Week starting 20th April
What a weekend of enormous runs from the TRX Wolves members.
Fiona Wright ran an incredible off-road marathon, with hills that make your eyes water. Julia Condon took on the Myddle Muddle 10k to raise money for a school. Blimey, raising money and then straight back into school on Monday to teach primary kids – very good work.
On to the Manchester Marathon. We’ve had a number of people training for this since December. Those 3 x 2 mile sessions, the hail, rain and wind, finding roads that weren’t covered in snow, endless extra tempos – was it all worth it? Hell yes.
The lads did themselves and the club proud. Two debuts and everyone PB’d. We were all following on the tracker with sweaty hands. When the tracker crashes, your heart stops. But honestly, what a run by:
Steven Newman – 2:48
Matt Blair – 4:17
Tom Pryor – 3:21 (that’s basically 50 x 800m!)
TRX Wolves men’s road captain Alex Kelly – 2:58
To everyone who raced this weekend, well done – we’re so proud of you.
Next up is the London Marathon, with first claim members Alex Blair and Jake Brown toeing the line in the championship start, alongside second claim members Jonny Morris and Jon Hart. Lads, you’ve all worked so hard through the winter – go and smash it.
