Week Starting 30th March

What an amazing day at Sutton Park. Qualified for the Nationals on our first attempt. All 24 runners gave their absolute best to get us there. Friends, family and dogs were out in force, and the cake game was as strong as the running.

Well done to each and every one of you. I hope those who made their debuts really enjoyed it, you did yourselves proud.

We go again on 11th April. Same course, same set up. Please come out and support if you can, especially on that hill.

Derrick Milligan, who will be available for the 11th, ran a brilliant PB of 79 minutes at the Berlin Half Marathon today. He has worked his socks off to get there, massive well done. Not a PB, but a really strong run from TC too, 82 minutes at Berlin. Good run too for Andy Horton 91 mins.

In other news, we are starting to build a really good group for our ladies. A new first-team signing is Lucy Calrow, an incredibly talented runner and equally good at pints too. The TRX Wolves Ladies are growing. With the success, atmosphere and sheer joy from yesterday, I hope more people join and see that we are a friendly, inclusive and encouraging group.

We have talked a lot about racing over the last couple of weeks, but our aim is always to train together and make sure people get what they need from the club. If that is not racing or relays, and is something else, that is 100% fine too.

It also feels like we are turning a corner with the weather. Lighter evenings are here, so we can open up more sessions and use more venues. We will also be using the track at Aldersley more often.

So, huge well done everyone. An amazing couple of weeks. Now onto the National Relays on 11th April, and later in the month the Manchester Marathon.
